10 month check up

Her very first freckle! Not sure how it got here because I thought freckles came from the sun and that area doesn't get any sun??

We just got back from Pres' 10 month check up. She is soooo tall! She is above the 90th percentile for her age almost off the chart. Her weight is in the 50th percentile, the doc said " Is your family tall and lean" I said " No most of our family is short and chubby", there are a few on my Grams side that are tall and lean but for the most part we are definitely all short and most chubby :) She said that Presley has gone down on her weight and that she does not like that. She wants her to try and have more formula in her bottles and make sure she is getting 5 bottles a day. Right now Presley has a 6 am 4 oz bottle, and then breakfast(1/2 cup of banana oatmeal), 10 am 4 oz bottle, lunch ( either jar of vegis and jar of fruit or cut up lunch meat and bread), a 1pm 4oz bottle, dinner (usually a little bit of what we are eating, or a jar of dinner baby food and jar of fruit) 8pm bottle, and 10pm 4 oz bottle before bed. The doc said she is doing good with food but most babies at her age drink 6-8 oz in their bottle. I have tried to give Presley 6 oz bottles but she stops at 4. Doc also wants me to give her more greens than oranges b/c she said Pres looks a little yellow... I thought it was just her ethnicity but I guess all the sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash are doing it. Her weight is 19lbs 11oz, most 10 month olds are 22-25 pounds. She is 30.5 inches. As far as her teeth go she said she will get them when they are ready and that some babies don't get them until after they are 1. She is referring us to a orthopedic specialist just to confirm that her mark on her knee is a birthmark and that nothing is wrong that will cause her problems when she walks. All the doc's we have seen since she was born say it feels just like the other knee and they think while in utero she was pushed up against my hip bone or some bone that caused the marking. I will have to post pictures of it. Its just a mark that almost looks like a bruise but is in the shape of a airplane, everyone likes to tell us what they think it looks like, a cross, dragon fly, airplane, star... She actually has 3 birth marks! I will have to post a blog about them :) But yesterday she got her first freckle! Its so cute :) See picture.

Other than the eating she is doing great developmentally, the doctor was amazed that she knew where her nose was! She is so smart!

My little lovey face

That is just one of Presley's nicknames. We call her Presley, Pres, Boo, Lovey , Little face, and Pelz. She definitely knows her name. This was her first monsoon, it was windy but you can't see it, she didn't know what to think and was pointing at the wind lol.

She points at everything now, she points and wants you to say what it is like points at Taquito (our dog) and we say "puppy" points a picture and we say "baby" etc... She also points when she wants something like when she is eating and she wants more she points and says something that sounds like "that". Such a little cutie.

This she rarely does anymore (standing holding our hands). She used to want to walk while holding our hands ALL THE TIME! Our backs used to kill us by the end of the day but now, nope, not now that she knows she can crawl and get to what she wants.

What a mess!! She put her whole hand in the bowl of oatmeal and it spilt on the tray, so I guess she thought it would be a good face mask.

She fell asleep watching it

She now knows what a pen is and what it does, this was the first time she had ever drawn and knew what she was doing. You can't see in the picture but there are lots of scribbles. ADORABLE! && I think she may be a lefty.

Having fun with grandpa

Isn't she a doll, I know! I bought this pack of heart shapped plastic bracelets in the dollar section at target and she loves them! She puts them on her hands feet, dogs tail what ever will go inside them. Here she is putting one on her foot.

I went to 4 dealerships comparing prices and to see who would offer us the most for our money so Presley stayed with Grandpa while I went to one in Scottsdale by his house. He has a slot machine in his living room and taught Presley how to gamble ;) He would say push the button and she pushed it and after it made all the noises she clamps. So cute!

She loves her grandpa, he is so good with her and they always have a great time.

Last friday...

So I have come to the conclusion that all those people who say children should not watch t.v. until they are at least two years old must have maids, nannies, butlers, slaves, etc...

The other day when Zoe was over she wanted to watch Dora, well Dora wasn't on but Sponge bob was. So we left the t.v. on Sponge bob. Presley was amazed she was glued to the television! I didn't want her watching to much b/c I know what the "experts" say. So we turned it off after one episode and they played.

Today I had massive cleaning to get done and room by room Presley and I conquered the mess. It came time to mop the whole house and there was no way I was going to get that done with her smudging the freshly mopped floors. So rather than waiting until daddy got home I got a bright idea (lol) to turn on a cartoon. So I put on this princess movie we got free from fisher price. WHO WOULDA KNEW... the only thing that Presley likes more than a mop is CARTOONS! I got all my mopping done and even went over it again with polishing mop stuff. Wheeeew. So to the experts: either a) you don't have children b) you have a nanny or c) you have never turned on cartoons while mopping and your floors look like crap :)

I'm not going to use the cartoons as a babysitter but you better believe on cleaning days sponge bob will be our best friend!

Presley loves swimming, she loves any water really but being in the pool is so relaxing to her. She kicks back in her float and kicks her little footsies. Here is us about to get in the pool... (don't mind me, no makeup ekkk) Pres helping me put her jumperoo on craigslist...

Yesterday Presley had a play date, my friend Brandy brought over her daughter Zoe for a few hours. Zoe is 11 months older than Presley and wasn't to fond of her at first. Presley kept looking up at her with amazement. Here are some pictures of the two cuties... (Presley looks so dark next to Zoe & Zoe looks soooo pale lol next to Presley, the funny thing is I have light hair, light eyes and light skin just like Zoe and Brandy has dark hair, eyes and skin just like Presley lol) Zoe did not like Presley touching her & Presley just kept trying to pet her lol

Zoe kept taking her binky out and putting it back in over and over, Presley wasn't so sure about this little game! After a lot of playing Brandy and I were sitting on the couches talking about the old days and high school, our husbands, etc... and we each had a kiddo asleep on our chest. So much has changed!

Grandpa came over today for a few hours to play with Presley, big help to mama, I was able to sweep and mop without a little monster following me everywhere :) She just loves her Grandpa (both of them). BTW Presley is so blessed to have so many grandmas and grandpas. She has Three grandpas, three great grandpa's, a grandma, and three great grandmas, all of whom love her to pieces!!

Since Monday Presley has learned where the nose is, we ask her "wheres my nose" and she points and touches our noses. She also learned how to blow a kiss!! It was so funny how it happened. Me and Presley walked over to grandma and grandpa's house b/c daddy went to bed early. While there grandpa was holding Pres and Grandma said " I wish she would learn to blow a kiss and did the motion while saying that. Presley all of a sudden does it!! and then again! We couldn't stop laughing and I was crying lol. She is just soooo stinkin' smart!

Wednesday she will be 10 months :( my baby is growing up, the other day I was at jcpenny's and I was looking at the clearance for next summer and I had to go across the walkway to the big girl clothes :( no more months now she will be in the 2t,3t,etc... So sad! She will always be mommy's little girl though!!!

Presley's first camping trip!

This weekend was my dad's birthday and we were invited to go with him & family & friends camping up north. I was hesitant to go with a 9 month old but am so glad I did. It was so fun sitting around the fire and just hanging out. However the big bugs...not so fun! I got over it after not sleeping at all the first night b/c there was a huge flying bug in our room. & after that night was at terms with the wild bugs lol. Presley enjoyed being outside and playing with the sticks and rocks. Check out our pictures :)

Grandma, Presley and I slept in a camper, no way was I sleeping with the bears and who knows what else! Manuel and Bob HAD to bring the tent and as they said "be one with nature" MEN! So here is Presley making sure daddy will be comfy in the tent...I love it when someone else does the cooking! I cook almost everyday so it's a nice break. && great food! I would like to point out Sam's bat is nowhere near the ball, mine... Right on! I hit that thing far & guess who's team won- MINE! The hike was a little scary carrying a baby but Manuel did great with me saying "Manuel be careful "10,000,000 times ;)Presley LOVES water, daddy let her put her hands and feet in the lake, (which mommy did not like b/c ewwww fish water) She had so much fun and it was just BEAUTIFUL! && This is what happens when you take Presley away from water...

Grandma was rubbing this grass on pres' neck and she loved it, combined with the splashing of the water on the rocks she was so relaxed, it was adorable!

Some of us after hiking back up the mountain (we were all pretty out of breath!) the rest of the group was trailing behind ;) Uncle Stan came up from Holbrook for Bob's birthday and Presley just loved sitting in his jeep, she laughed & laughed :)

We had a great time, thank you to Frank and Vic for letting Presley and I stay in the camper & A huge thanks to Frankie for the AMAZING food, I loved the carne asada and tortillas YUMMO !! && Thank you to my 'rents for inviting us, we can't wait to do it again :)

Tylenol

The last week nights have been horrible, Presley falls asleep around 10 then wakes up around midnight wanting to be held. I pick her up(btw I have tried just letting her "cry it out" she just cries harder and starts to hyperventilate and can't catch her breath) and rock her, put her in her bed and she wakes up and screams so after doing this what seems like a million times finally at 4ish I just take her to bed with me. She then tosses and turns, I toss and turn, Manuel tosses and turns. NOT GOOD. I have been so tired since this started going on at 7 I am ready to crash.
Last night around 1 she starts screaming, not just a cry, I try to calm her and nothing works. She was really really hot so I got her a bottle thinking she might just be hungry. That calmed her down but she was still burning up. This morning she was hot and her nose was running :( I say it every time she gets a little cold... She must be teething. The teeth never appear. She hasn't had a good nappy in 3 days, today's afternoon nap attempt was a repeat of last night, woke up screaming. Her little nose is running like crazy and of course she hates me wiping it :( Her cheeks are rosy (see above pic) and her eyes are just so tired. My poor baby! So I finally broke down and gave her Tylenol. Ugh, I hate Tylenol. Ever since she was 2 months old and had her first shots, they told me to give it to her and it made her so out of it she was lethargic and it scared me to death. She has only had Tylenol once since then and I only gave her half of what they recommend for her age. My mom and friend think I am crazy. When I told my friend about my feelings towards it she said" Really oh man every time _____ would cry I just popped some Tylenol in her mouth". I babysat a baby when I was preggo with Presley and the mom said if she looks tired and is fussy just give her some Tylenol and it will put her right to sleep. Crazy! Hopefully she will get better soon. We have a camping trip planned this weekend with my family for my dad's birthday & I don't know if we will be going now.
On a better note... At Tjmaxx the other day Presley heard a phone ring for the first time lol. I have a song as my ring tone, Manuel always has his on vibrate and we don't have a house phone. The phone rang and she got this puzzled look on her face lol. So I showed her the phone and said hello, now when we say "hello" she puts her hand to her ear like it is a phone. She is so smart. @ almost 10 months when we say "patty cake" she claps her hands, "bye bye" she waves, "pretty picture" she puts her hands above her head like a picture frame, "high five" she gives us a high five, and now "hello" puts her hand on her ear.

Better go get started on dinner... vegetable fried brown rice tonight :)

I am pretty sure I have the CUTEST baby girl EVER!!!

So I say it all the time, she is the most beautiful baby ever. Manuel always assures me that every mom thinks this about their baby. Really? How could they think that if mine is?! Come on look at that smile, those big eyes, perfect lil nose, and chubby lil cheekers. She amazes me :) Presley: You are the light of mommy's life, you make everyday amazing. I am so in love with you. I truly believe you are the most beautiful thing in this world. You are so smart, I know you will be great in life. No matter what you will be perfect to me.
